Name: Community Education and Volunteer Training Class
Date: April 2, 2019
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM PDT
Event Description:
South Coast Hospice offers this free 11 week class to help community members better understand the death and dying process. While it was designed to prepare our patient volunteers to be able to support terminally ill patients and their families, it is open to anyone in the community. Many participants have told us how much it has helped them take care of loved ones who might be chronically ill as well. Over the 11 weeks the topics will include what to say to those who are ill or grieving, how to relieve stress, understanding the emotional impacts on patients and family members, spiritual concerns at end of life, mobility equipment to help patients remain independent and safe for as long as possible, and much more. We hope you can join us! Please dress comfortably. All the materials and light refreshments will be provided.

We will be meeting at a lovely location in Bandon. Participants will receive a map upon registration.
