Catch A Wave - Surf Music Of The Early 1960s (Bandon Library Lecture Series)

Journey back in time September 24th at 1pm at the Bandon Library when local resident/music historian Randal Hill offers a look at the music that once dominated the airwaves and made every young person yearn to be a Southern California beachgoer. Hill was on the scene back then and later interviewed such notables as Jan and Dean and the leader of the Surfaris. “Catch a Wave” will offer tales and tunes you’ve never heard, as well as such classic hits as “Miserlou” (Dick Dale and the Del-Tones), “Surfin USA” (Beach Boys), “Surf City” (Jan and Dean), “Pipeline” (Chantays) and “Wipe Out” (Surfaris).
