The Sufferings of Ann Saunders
Name: The Sufferings of Ann Saunders
Date: April 21, 2017 - April 23, 2017
“I’m not sure how to say this tactfully, so I’ll just be direct. You, Ann Saunders, are a dead woman. For well over a hundred years. Now, I’m not making any judgements…” A movie producer spars with the ghost of a shipwreck survivor over how to tell her story in the original tragicomedy, 'The Sufferings of Ann Saunders.' A staged reading of the play will be performed by Bandon’s new readers theater group, The Gaels, on April 21, 22, and 23rd, at the Bandon Library. The cast includes Corrie Gant, Donald Zealand, and Amy Moss Strong, who also performed together in the Bandon Playhouse staged reading 'I Was Really Very Hungry.' Mike Dempsey, who starred in the sold-out 'Santaland Diaries' this past December, directs, and Richard Robinett will introduce each performance. 'The Sufferings of Ann Saunders' will be performed in the Sprague Room of the Bandon Library on April 21 and 22 at 7pm, and April 23 at 2pm. Admission is $5. For more info, call (541) 290-8343 or visit The Gaels Facebook page.
