Event Description:
The South Slough Reserve is teaming up with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in a family-friendly workshop that will show participants everything they need to know to go digging of a variety of clams in our coastal mud flats. Knowledgeable instructors will teach how to spot clams, proper digging techniques and how to prepare and cook clams.
Pre-registration is required, and everyone age 12 and older will need to purchase a shellfish license online, at a sales agent (Walmart, etc) or ODFW office in advance of the class. Meet in the gravel parking lot across from the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, OR. [Max. ? 20]

FREE Programs may be canceled due to low enrollment or hazardous weather. Activity fees and donations cover materials and are used by the Friends of South Slough Reserve, Inc. in support of the Reserve. The Interpretive Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:00 pm.
